Do What I Say - Arsenal & Teenage Cancer Trust

Arsenal Football Club Launches 'Be a Gooner. Be A Giver.' Campaign for Teenage Cancer Trust

Gunners aim to raise £300,000 to help increase support for teenagers and young adults with cancer.

Arsenal Football Club today (21 August 2008) announces Teenage Cancer Trust as its nominated charity for the forthcoming football season.

Through the 'Be A Gooner. Be A Giver.' campaign, the Gunners will aim to raise £300,000 enabling Teenage Cancer Trust to increase its support for teenagers and young adults with cancer in the London area by building a unit within a brand new Day Care Centre at University College Hospital, London.

Arsenal is the first to commit to funding part of Teenage Cancer Trust's unit in the Day Care Centre. The Club hopes that other organisations will follow their lead, helping the charity to raise a further £1.2million to complete the development of their unit.

The money raised by Arsenal through innovative fundraising initiatives by players, staff and supporters will fund an Education Zone for teenage and young adult cancer patients in Teenage Cancer Trust's unit in the Centre which is due to open in 2012. The Centre will be the first of its kind in Europe and Teenage Cancer Trust's unit will help thousands of teenagers and young people with cancer and their families across London and the South East.

The Education Zone will be a dedicated space where those being treated can keep up with their studies and also learn more about their cancer. The zone will include computers and laptops with wireless access, enabling them to contact their school, keep in touch with their friends and even join in with lessons via webcam.

The partnership will be officially launched at University College Hospital London this afternoon where Arsène Wenger and Arsenal players, accompanied by Arsenal Ladies and England Captain, Faye White will be shown around Teenage Cancer Trust's existing unit by Teenage Cancer Trust Patron and dedicated Gooner, Roger Daltrey CBE. Here, they will be introduced to young people who are being treated on the specialist cancer ward for teenage cancer patients.

Speaking ahead of the launch Arsenal Manager, Arsène Wenger, said: "The team and I met some patients from Teenage Cancer Trust's unit at Emirates Stadium earlier this month.Their strength and courage in fighting this disease is remarkable. We understand the importance of these units which give young people a sense of normality in their lives whilst being treated for cancer. We look forward to kicking off the 'Be a Gooner. Be a Giver.' campaign together today." Roger Daltrey CBE, lead singer of The Who, Patron of Teenage Cancer Trust and dedicated Gooner added: "I'm so proud that Arsenal, a life-long obsession of mine, will be supporting Teenage Cancer Trust, a cause I have been championing for many years. I can't think of a better partnership.
"Arsenal Football Club has shown more commitment to teenagers than any other club in the Premier League, with young players who have set a standard of football way higher than their years. I know that both Arsenal FC and all of us, the fans, will really get behind Teenage Cancer Trust and help make a difference for thousands of young cancer patients."

Simon Davies, CEO of Teenage Cancer Trust said, "We're incredibly excited about working with Arsenal - their support will be of great benefit to the many young cancer patients who will be treated at the new day care centre in London each year. We know that, for patients of this age, being able to stay in touch with friends and to continue with education while being treated is extremely important when it comes to psychological wellbeing and future choices."

Sir Robert Naylor, University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) Chief Executive, said: "UCLH is delighted to have had the support of Teenage Cancer Trust for many years to develop the UK's leading centre providing the very best care to young patients during their stay in hospital. We are delighted that Teenage Cancer Trust, together with the help of Arsenal FC, has agreed to extend this commitment to our proposed world class cancer centre which will provide day care for teenagers in a home-from-home environment."

Arsenal will be raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust's ambitious and innovative project throughout the season through a range of initiatives. As well as encouraging fans to donate and take part in events and challenges, the Club will dedicate its game against Liverpool to the charity and hold its annual end of season fundraising ball in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust. A dedicated website has been created so that supporters can follow the partnership at www.beagoonerbeagiver.org.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Arsenal players star in this 90 second charity ad for the Club's Charity of the Season 2008/09, Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT). The ad sees nine of the first team star appear in funny scenarios doing whatever the teenagers want them to do. The advert was created and shot by the agency, Brothers and Sisters and includes a voiceover by British comedian and Arsenal fan Matt Lucas.The film will appear on www.beagoonerbeagiver.org from 15 December in the run-up to the dedicated matchday and aims to encourage supporters to join in and donate through the site.
Life Transformers 心晴大动员
Last Monday, it is the last epsiode of Life Transformers 心晴大动员.
Well, basically 10 familes are chosen by the production team to help them change their life by sprucing up their homes and assisting them in whatever they can. They will have only 1 day to clean up the house, make changes etc as it will affect their living and sleeping conditions for the day. Or simply, it cannot drag too long as the the volunteers too have their own lives to live and they have spent 2 days on helping.
It has certainly open up many people's eyes that there are people who live in extreme conditions despite being under a roof.
While we should carry on the good work started by them, perhaps we should at how the public services are helping them. As we have a lack of volunteers and social workers, I do not expect the government, town councils etc to be able to help all but just the 9 families shown are perhaps the extreme and why are they not picked up by the social services?
Do we need to have such a show to really open up the relevant eyes? Perhaps, after the show is being shown, buzzers are then being pressed to help those who fell in the extreme ends?
Nonetheless, I hope those families featured on the show will be able to keep up their spirits and hopefully with the improvement of their homes, their lives will only start to get better.
Some information on the show.
Piercing through Time Hollow
Settled another ndsl game, Time Hollow.
Gameplay is around 8-10 hours. A pretty nice game with a great complicated storyline.
Overall gameplay is simple with very low replay value. I doubt I will go through everything again.
The storyline is great as the plot will keeps you engaged. However as gameplay is relatively simple, you just need to go through all locations if you are stuck and watch out for small things you might have missed, though not that many.
Overall a fun game to play but it is more for relaxing rather than intense gaming.
Unable to load oci.dll
Had a problem in office with the oci.dll
In short, the oracle folder in the server has not enough permission. Perhaps, there is enough permission but somehow it is nto inherited down to the sub folders etc.
Found a fix and it is simply to re-apply the permission for the folder.
Steps below
Information from here.
1. Log on to Windows as a user with Administrator privileges.
2. Launch Windows Explorer from the Start Menu and and navigate to the ORACLE_HOME folder. This is typically the "Ora92" folder under the "Oracle" folder (i.e. D:\Oracle\Ora92) in Oracle9iR2 or "Client_1" folder under the "Oracle\product\10.1.0" folder (i.e. D:\Oracle\product \10.1.0\Client_1) in Oracle10gR1.
3. Right-click on the ORACLE_HOME folder and choose the "Properties" option from the drop down list. A "Properties" window should appear.
4. Click on the "Security" tab of the "Properties" window. NOTE: If you are running Windows XP and do not have a "Security" tab please do the following:
(a) Open "Folder Options" in your Control Panel. (
(b) Choose the "View" tab.
(c) Under "Advanced Settings" uncheck the option "Use simple file sharing (Recommended)". The "Security" tab should now be available.
5. Click on "Authenticated Users" item in the "Name" list (on Windows XP the "Name" list is called "Group or user names").
6. Uncheck the "Read and Execute" box in the "Permissions" list under the "Allow" column (on Windows XP the "Permissions" list is called "Permissions for Authenticated Users").
7. Re-check the "Read and Execute" box under the "Allow" column (this is the box you just unchecked).
8. Click the "Advanced" button and in the "Permission Entries" list make sure you see the "Authenticated Users" listed there with: Permission = Read & Execute Apply To = This folder, subfolders and files If this is NOT the case, edit that line and make sure the "Apply onto" drop-down box is set to "This folder, subfolders and files". This should already be set properly but it is important that you verify this.
9. Click the "Ok" button until you close out all of the security properties windows. The cursor may present the hour glass for a few seconds as it applies the permissions you just changed to all subfolders and files.
10. Reboot your computer to assure that these changes have taken effect.
11. Re-execute the application and it should now work.
NOTE: If the problem continues to occur, please go back through these same 11 steps but when performing step 8 additionally check the box entitled "Replace permission entries on all child objects with entries shown here that apply to child objects" and be sure to reboot in step 10.
Lock's Quest Conquered
Saw the latest game, Lock's Quest, on IGN's front page. Quickly got a copy of the game and get down to playing~!
It is part Fighting RPG and RTS. YOu get to build your defence and when battle starts, you get to control Lock to go around fighting enemies and repairing your castle walls.
The game lasted 100 days and probably around 20++ hours for me. Quite enjoyable.
Some general tips.
Use traps once they are available, Poison and Ice works well together. If you need to use revealer, place them right in front of the walls so they will be exposed near the wall and in range of your turrets.
For new battlegrounds, to spend some time knowing where are places for good defences. short stretches for minimum building, places for Lock to move around to attack, constricted areas for enemies to walk through and trap them.
You can hide Lock inside the castle walls and concentrate on repairing but do watch the health and have easy access to all walls. Once you have a helper bot to repair the walls, you will want to attack more. Attack is sometimes the best form of defence.
ROM
Attended a friend's ROM at Lao Beijing located at Plaza Singapura.
Most of the family members are early and on time with as usual a few exceptions.
What is the biggest exception is that the solemniser herself is late. She lives in AMK and Plaza Singapura is only a CTE down. How late is she? 45 mins late~!
http://app.rom.gov.sg/internet/reg_info/rom_interpreters.asp
Do remember to check with your Solemniser on his/her:
  1. Requirement(s) such as meeting up and/or pre-marriage preparation
  2. Invite your Solemniser personally (third party such as a relative or wedding planner is not entertained)
  3. Note that your Solemniser sacrifices personal time and efforts when he/she accepts your invitation to grace your joyous occasion as Guest-of-Honour. As a gesture of appreciation, please ensure that he/she is warmly received, entertained, and reimbursed for transport to and from your wedding venue.
I believe couples who have read so far now will want to know her name.
MDM LEONG TON MICHELLE MRS VINCENT OH BENG SENG, PBM of PAYA LEBAR KOVAN COMMUNITY CLUB, ALJUNIED GRC
Respect and punctuality works both way. So far, I have only seen solemnisers chasing the couple to start the ceremony, first case, I see it the other way and also due to the super lateness of the solemniser.
Apparently, the time and effort of the couple and guests are not recognised at all.
Upon reaching the venue, no apologies given to the waiting guests or so. Ceremony was done very fast, basically going thru the process. Throughout, she looks so stern which is well.. haiz...
Winning Eleven Ubiquitous Evolution 2008 (PSP) - League and World Tour
Borrowed a PSP from a colleague just especially to play Winning Eleven Ubiquitous Evolution 2008 (PSP), also know as Pro Evolution Soccer 2008.
Finished playing BPL using Arsenal, the team I am supporting, with a grand total of 114 points, meaning 38 wins.
Scored 226 goals and conceded 26 goals for a goal difference of +200.
I thought I will just take a look at the World Tour to see how it looks like but it gave me a pleasant surprise. The stage is mission based with different scenarios against different countries and clubs in a world tour. The standard condition is that you have to win the match but with strings attached. You may have to win in a certain way or at least score goals in a certain manner, handicapped like all players booked, or injured, limited match time etc.
It is pretty fun and quite addictive. It may feels long but as the different scenarios have different time constraints, one stage can only be like 10-30 minutes of match time.
I tried to find all the stages available in World Tour but cannot find anything about it.
So I decided to list it here as I explore it. May even upload it to gamefaqs.
Total of 50 missions for World Tour. After finishing the World Tour, there is a part 2. Looks similar to part one but I am not playing it anymore. Also, besides getting more points to unlock more things in the game, you get to unlock the classic teams also. Seems to be a fixed classic team for each mission instead of a random country.
World Tour Stage
All conditions require you to win, kind of obvious right.
Asia Oceania Round
Mission 1 - Win comfortably
Scenario - From the beginning
Objective - By 2 goals or more
Tip - NA
African Round
Mission 2 - Starting Players only
Scenario - From the second half, no substitution
Objective - Victory
Tip - Just score and win.
Mission 3 - Avoid the offside trap
Scenario - From the beginning
Objective - N0 offside
Tip - No through balls, no crosses. This should keep you with no offsides.
Mission 4 - Last 15 minutes
Scenario - From extra time 2nd half
Objective - Victory
Tip - Err... Just score and win
North/Central American and Caribbean Round
Mission 5 - Score with a substitute
Scenario - From extra time 1st half
Objective - One sub scores at least 1 goal
Tip - Change 3 of your players to 3 subs before loading the game. Before the kick off, make the 3 substitutions and score with them
Mission 6 - All about Defence
Scenario - From the 2nd half, leading by 1
Objective - Clean Sheet
Tip - Just do not concede any goal will do. Attacking is the best defence, in my opinion.
Mission 7 - Add Variation to your Attack
Scenario - From the beginning
Objective - 2 scorers or more
Tip - After you score with a player, sub the player out and hence you will ensure when you score the second goal, it will be 2 scorers already
South American Round
Mission 8 - Individual Brilliance
Scenario - From extra time 1st half
Objective - Goal from 30m dribble
Tip - Easy if you have good wingers. From either flanks, dribble the ball down to byline, do a U-turn and when you are 1/4 inside the penalty box, turn perpendicular and run across the penalty box. When you are almost in the middle, try to score a goal. If no defenders blocking, you can score a goal in the far post.
Mission 9 - Penalty Shootouts
Scenario - From penalties
Objective - Victory
Tip - Just score and win.
Mission 10 - Shoot on Sight
Scenario - From extra time 2nd half
Objective - Victory
Tip - Err... Just score and win
Mission 11 - Attack down the Wings
Scenario - From the beginning
Objective - Score at least 2 goals from crosses
Tip - Have strikers with good headers and keep crossing.
Mission 12 - Watch Your Stamina
Scenario - From extra time 2nd half, Leading by 1, Stamina 20%
Objective - Victory
Tip - Just play your normal game.
Mission 13 - Comeback
Scenario - From the second half, behind by 1
Objective - Victory
Tip - Just play your normal game
European Round A
Mission 14 - Good Teamwork
Scenario - From the beginning
Objective - 60% possession or more
Tip - Once you win the match, play passing game with your back four.
Mission 15 - Manager's Orders
Scenario - From the beginning, COM coach mode
Objective - Victory
Tip - Just play your normal game except that you cannot make any managerial decision.
Mission 16 - Overcome Player Deficit
Scenario - From the 2nd half, Red cards : 2
Objective - Victory
Tip - Only when the match starts then you will know who are out of the game. You can either retry so the important players are not out or you can make immediate substitutions to change the team.
Mission 17 - Adverse Player Condition
Scenario - From the beginning, all the players in bad condition
Objective - Victory
Tip - Just play your normal game, no differences.
Mission 18 - Put Away Your Chances
Scenario - From extra time 1st half
Objective - Less than 4 shots
Tip - Make your shots counts, do not try risky shots.
Mission 19 - Score From a Quick Attack
Scenario - From ET 2nd half 10 min
Objective - Victory
Tip - Just play your normal game, no differences.
European Round B
Mission 20 - Get a Clean Sheet
Scenario - From the beginning
Objective - Victory
Tip - Just play your normal game, do not concede goals.
Mission 21 - Shot Accuracy
Tip - Just play your normal game. Do not take too much risky shots.
Mission 22 - No key players
Scenario - From the beginning, no key players
Objective - Victory
Tip - Just play your normal game. Make correct substitutions for unavailable players.
Mission 23 - Take Advantage of Limited Chances
Scenario - From the beginning
Objective - Victory, 40% possession or less
Tip - Quickly score a goal and pass possession back to opponent. Simply shoot for goal whenever you get possession as this will ensure your opponent gets the ball and have more possession.
Mission 24 - Score From Open play
Scenario - From the beginning
Objective - Score at least 2 goals with an assist
Tip - Just play your normal game and do not go for solo.
Mission 25 - Injured players
Scenario - From the beginning, all the players slightly injured
Objective - Victory
Tip - Just play your normal game, no differences.
European Round C
Mission 26 - Watch your Discipline
Scenario - From the 2nd half, behind by 1, Substitutions : 0 player, all players with a booking
Objective - Victory
Tip - Just play your normal game. Watch your tackles to prevent a second booking.
Mission 27 - Dribble the GK
Scenario - From the beginning
Objective - Dribble and score.
Tip - Dribble round the goalkeeper and bring the ball to the net and do not shoot the ball. To achieve this, try scoring a goal, after the restart, rob the ball off a defender when they pass it back as you will have less defenders. Alternatively, you need to pass a through ball so you will be one-on-one with the goalkeeper and it is easier to dribble round and bring the ball in.
Mission 28 - Change the Game with a Substitution
Scenario - From 2nd half 30 min, substitution 1 player
Objective - Victory
Tip - Just play your normal game. Either make immediate substitutions or change your first team and substitute in your first team players in.
Mission 31 - Take Advantage of Limited Chances 2
Scenario - From the 2nd half, behind by 1
Objective - Victory
Tip - Just play your normal game and win the match.
European Round D
Mission 32 - Win as a Team
Scenario - From the 2nd half
Objective - One sub scores at least 1 goal, at least 1 goal from a starting player.
Tip - Score a goal first then substitute the scoring player. Make all 3 substitutes to increase the chance. You can change your first team and then substitute them in later.
Mission 33 - Watch Your Stamina 2
Scenario - From the 2nd half, stamina 50%, Substitutions : 0 player
Objective - Victory
Tip - Just play your normal game, not much differences.
Mission 34 - Repel Opposition Attacks
Scenario - From 1st half 15 min, leading by 1
Objective - At least 10 opposition shots
Tip - Play defensive and let your opponent shoot. They may score as a result so score a few more goals against them to secure your victory.
Mission 35 - Score From Distance
Scenario - From the beginning
Objective - Score from 25 m.
Tip - Have a good midfielder who can score from a distance like Fabregas, Lampard, Gerrad. Pass the ball to them and let them dribble straight to penalty box in the middle of the field. From outside the penalty box, behind the semi-circle, try a long range shot. This is a difficult mission to clear.
If you are not in the center, the goalkeeper is actually better placed to block your shot.
Mission 36 - Completely Dominate Opposition
Scenario - From the beginning
Objective - By 3 goals or more, clean sheet, 3 fouls or less
Tip -Just play your normal game and do not concede any goals. Do not tackle unless necessary.
Mission 37 - Add Variation to your Attack 2
Scenario - From the second half
Tip - Just play your normal game.
Mission 40 - Win a Tempestuous Encounter
Scenario - From the second half
Objective - Behind by 1, red cars : you - 3, opp -1
Tip - Note the dismissed players and make your substitution as per needed. Keep your defenders, you can always player a lone striker.
Mission 41 - Fairplay
Scenario - From the beginning
Objective - 1 foul or less.
Tip - Just play your normal game and do not tackle at all.
Mission 42 - Make a Difference as a Team Player
Scenario - From the beginning, cursor fixed
Objective - Victory
Tip - Keep changing the cursor. You can play as a single player or after passing the ball etc, go to menu and change the cursor to the next player holding the ball.
Classic Round
Mission 43 - Major Victory (Classic Argentina)
Scenario - From the beginning. All the players in great condition.
Objective - By 6 goals or more. 3 scorers or more
Tip - Just score as much as possible, to ensure 3 scorers, once a player score twice, substitute the player out.
Mission 44 - No Radar (Classic Brazil)
Scenario - From the beginning. Do not display the radar
Objective - Victory
Tip - If you reach here, you will probably be very familiar to how your players run around the field. Just play as per usual or you can solo a player all the way to victory.
Tip - Penalty Kick NOT included. FK is not easy to get so try to get a CK. You can either cross an aerial ball or do a short pass to a player and do a run into the penalty and box to score.
Mission 48 - Dominate in the Air (Classic Germany)
Scenario - From the beginning.
Objective - Score 3 goals with headers
Tip - This will be easy if you are good with crosses and scoring with headers. Try to use a 3 strikers formation if possible to draw the attention of the defenders. Your left and right strikers are preferred to be good with headers. Your CF will be just attracting defenders, depending on you play or crosses.
Mission 49 - Go for Goal as a Team (Classic Italy)
Scenario - From the beginning.
Objective - One sub scores at least 1 goal, Scores with a striker, Scores with a midfielder, Scores with a defender
Tip - Just try to score with striker and midfielder first. Once done, sub the scoring striker or midfielder. Once done, depending on how you score with your midfielder (esp winger), do the same with your defender (esp the half backs as they can double up as wingers most time.) Alternatively you can switch the role of a midfielder as a defender.
Final Round
Mission 50 - Team Effort
Scenario - From the beginning. All opponents in excellent condition
Objective - 50% shots on target, 50% possession or more, 80% or more passing success and 0 fouls
Tip - Watch your shots carefully as there are less chances to shoot. Do not even try to tackle, just nudge the players will do. Once you win, just play passing with your back line to achieve the passing and possession.
Proud Owner of a Samsung Omnia i900
Took the plunge and bought a Samsung Omnia.
Used to swear off Samsung phones but somehow unable to resist it.
This is also my first PDA phone~!
Below is a pic but my phone is white instead of black as it is out of stock.
Due to dear's special plan, we have to go down to Singtel Comcenter to sign up the plan and buy a phone. Long queue as lots of people are buying phones, mostly iphone though.
Service was bad as the CSO did not bother to ask whether I wanted white or black nor does not inform me that black is sold out. Next the system is actually quite poor as any mistakes means that the CSO has to refill everything, inclusive basic stuff.
I noted that the plan should have free voicemail which the CSO forgets to put in and he actually dares to rebutt that voicemail needs to be cancelled after 2 years since we need to pay for it.
Poor service.......
Sense of Home
This show comes shortly after the news that ever increasing Singaporeans are migrating out of Singapore to overseas.
The show, synopsis below, is simply propaganda from the government trying to psycho citizens not to emigrate. Those who had left probably will never come back. Those who wanted to leave will not be swayed. Those who are on the fence, there is still a chance to hold them back.
If the state of the country is desirable, citizens will not harbour the thoughts of leaving. Push and Pull factors, guess the push factors are becoming more and heavier in weight.
Home – and the definition of home – is a universal theme that everyone grapples with at some point or other of their lives. Is home where we come from? Is home where our family lives? Or is home really just a state of mind or an emotion?
The theme of Home is especially relevant to a Singapore audience – a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic country evolved from migrant communities that has, in recent years, seen an emigration (and immigration) of talent and manpower.
The debate rages on: have Singaporeans abroad abandoned their roots? Are Singapore residents from other parts of the world, who call Singapore home, the next generation of Singaporean talent?
Sense of Home is an anthology series about Singaporeans who are abroad – living, working, traveling…or simply lost. There are four stories which are connected by the central theme of Home, and what it means to each of the characters, although each story may convey this idea from a different perspective or aspect.
Sense of Home will be the first English drama series that will be entirely filmed abroad, and shot on HD. The four episodes will be filmed in Hungary, New Zealand, Cambodia and China.
Cast: Rui En, Fiona Xie, Edmund Chen, Andrea De Cruz, Hady Mirza
Olympics bonding
After the 2008 Olympics Games in Beijing, China, despite all the ongoing unpleasant incidents for the Games.
While the sporting ambition of bonding nations, sportsmen and etc is a tad too high and lofty. The bonding is actually at the family level.
As there are coverage in various channels, we could be watching it in different rooms for different sports etc. Certain sports will bond the family together like sports that have your own nation participating in it, common popular sports like Swimming, Gymnastics etc.
Though sometimes there are preferences for certain niche sports like basketball, cycling, diving, certain athletic events but most times, there is a general consensus to watch that sport, change over when certain parts are boring, or simply cheering for that particular country or sportsman.
Organic Story Mangosteen Juice
Organic Story Mangosteen Juice
Queen of Fruit
The Mangosteen is known as the “Queen of Fruit” and grows in the southeast region of Asia. It is one of the most unique fruits in the world for its flavor and for its broad range of healthful anti-oxidants (especially Xanthones). The queen of fruit not only has an army of anti-oxidants and other nutritional health benefits (eg. vitamin C, B1, B2, B6, potassium, iron, and calcium) but her delicious flavor will keep you coming back for more.
Anti-oxidants
Anti-oxidants are what nature gives us to combat Free-Radicals in our body. Free-Radicals are organic molecules responsible for aging, tissue damage, and possibly some diseases. In simple terms, anti-oxidants remove rust (oxidation) in our bodies. Rust is not good on a classic car or your classic body (like a classic car, we should get better with age or at least take better care). Xanthones are a particular kind of anti-oxidants that have been studied by many for its effectiveness in health.
Xanthones
Mangosteen's Xanthones are found in the pericarp or outer-skin. We separate the pericarp, the sweet white fruit, and the inner seed (not in every fruit), presenting a formula of highest concentration. Organic Story wants you to have the nutrients as well as the great taste. We add a touch of natural Rosella (1%) from Thailand for its bright red color and pleasing sweet taste. Rosella is also a source of anti-oxidant power for your body.
Dozens of studies have claimed to demonstrate the incredibly beneficial properties of the mangosteen fruit.
1. Sustains a healthy cardiovascular system
2. Supports cartilage and joint function
3. Boosts absorption of vitamins and Supports the immune system
4. Promotes a healthy seasonal respiratory system
5. Maintains intestinal health
6. Neutralizes free radicals (Filled with antioxidants)
7. Prevents aging-related problems
8. Good for the skin
9. Contributes to healthy digestion
Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2 - Cleared!
Finished Trauma Center: Under the Knife 2 after a grueling 10 hours of play.
Sound short? It is a very stressing 10 hours to get through the game. A long 10 hours~!
Operations are harder now, even the puzzle~! There are only 1 or 2 brief tutorial missions so veterans will not get bored as they are probably like 3-4 tutorials packed into 1 operation.
Storyline is as good as ever, a good plot, better graphics. Some operations looks the same but the operations against the GUILT virus starts off the same but with a mutated version. Final mission is a killer which required lots of patience and caution.
Overall a great game to play~! I rate it 9/10.
Has she becomes a Singaporean already or treat Singapore as a working place?
After like 13 years, Lee Jia Wei still can sprout this sort of nonsense.
So Singapore is not her homeground? not her home? After so many years, she still cannot speak English properly.
English translation : I am a Beijinger
English translation : and also a Chinese (not the race but as a citizen of China)
English translation : I hope that on my home soil
English translation : I can win a medal.
Beijing Olympics 4x100 Freestyle Relay Finals
Totally unbelievable race.
The incredible will to win and give it all. Without Jason Lezak, team US will have lose by almost a second. Great race, great finish~!
Unfortunately due to copyright issue, the youtube video is taken down already.
Nonetheless, it is a great 4 X 100m freestyle race.
Zapcode Winner again!
Received a call suddenly during work and I was very surprised to hear that I have won a Zapcode prize~! When the marketing executive, same as my previous win, said that I won the Nikon COOLPIX P60, I was ecstatic!!
I had previously mentioned that I wanted to win the camera as compared to all the Zapcode contest prizes, I wanted this this most~!
As collection is during office hours, my family members helped me to collect it.
Prize include P60 and a camera pouch. As I do not have a SD card, I have been relying on the internal 11mb memory to take some photos and try things out.
My P60~!
Beijing Olympics 2008 Opening Ceremony
Li Jiawei dragging the national flag on the floor.
Enough said. Disgrace to the nation!
Other nations have the pride to hoist it up, high and straight, she was simply more happy to wave and instead trying to keep it upright, keeping the flag off the ground etc.
SINGAPORE ARMS AND FLAG AND
NATIONAL ANTHEM ACT
(CHAPTER 296)
...........PART III
USE AND DISPLAY OF FLAG
Respect for Flag
4.—(1) No person shall treat the Flag with disrespect.
(2) No person in possession of the Flag shall allow or cause
Responsibilty
*This is SO TRUE............. hahaha....... make sure to read the last
part..... very funny but good comparisons...... hats off to the person who
wrote this.*
*Mr Wong says so....
There are several simple reasons why many Singaporean employers are
reluctant to give their maids a day off.*
*You see, if the maid runs away, the government will fine the employer
$5,000. If the maid commits a crime such as shoplifting, the government will
fine the employer $5,000.*
*If the maid is caught having sex with someone, the government will fine the
employer $5,000. If the maid gets pregnant, the government will also fine
the employer $5,000.*
**
*If you didn't know any of the above, then either you do not employ a maid,
or you didn't read the small print of the Manpower Ministry's work permit
conditions.*
*Many employers are afraid that if their maid has a day off and gets into
trouble, the employer will not only have to solve the trouble, but also have
to fork out $5,000 as a free gift to the government.*
**
*Intuitively, this smacks of gross unfairness. The employer gets punished
not for something he did, but for something that somebody else (the maid)
did. Furthermore, once the maid leaves the employer's residence, the
employer has no way of monitoring where the maid goes and what she does
there.*
**
*We may draw a curious parallel with Mas Selamat's escape, and PM Lee's
determined defence of Home Affairs Minister Wong Kan Seng in
Parliament. *
*Mas Selamat ran away. But PM Lee said that Wong Kan Seng was not at fault
and should not be punished in any way. *
**
*The reason being that Wong Kan Seng personally did not do anything which
allowed Mas Selamat to escape.*
*Strangely, if your maid runs away, it IS your fault and you SHOULD be
punished. Even if you did not personally do anything to let her run away
(apart from giving her a day off).*
**
*Similarly, if your maid becomes pregnant, it IS your fault and you SHOULD
be punished. Even if you did not personally do anything to make her
pregnant.*
**
*Oh well. What can I say? Maids are not terrorists. But then you are not
Wong Kan Seng. So the rules remain stacked against you. Wong Kan Seng gets
off lightly, but you won't. Even if his lapse has far greater, and graver,
implications than yours.*
**
*Your runaway maid wouldn't blow up Changi Airport , would she?*
PoolzConnect Platinum by Singapore Pools
Was looking into this PoolzConnect Platinum account where you do not pre pay an amount into Singapore Pools account but linked to your bank account.
I was quite puzzled by the automatic withdrawal of the money in your PoolzConnect account back to your bank account so I send an email to them asking about it.
Below is the content of the email. In short, it works like a regular call-in to place bets but with a 20 cents charge (same like Nets). There is no need to transfer any money into the account, any winnings will be put into the PoolzConnect account. When the next bet is made and there is amount inside the account, it will be taken from there.
Good only if you do not have the time or opportunity to go down to the betting outlets. Otherwise, there is no otherwise obvious benefits.
PoolzConnect Platinum account is an account betting service where you can
place sports, 4D and TOTO bets via the telephone. It is linked to your
personal bank account via GIRO. All betting and winnings will be debit and
credit into the bank account automatically.
All bets amount will be debit from the bank account when there is
insufficient amount in the Platinum account. For eg, the current balance in
the Platinum account is $0, when a bet amount of $50 is placed, $50 will be
debit from the bank account with $0.20 service charge by the bank. Winning
amount will be credit into the Platinum account within an hour after the
result is out. The amount will remain in Platinum account until the next
scheduled transfer of balance into the bank account (chosen by member in
Daily/Weekly/Monthly frequency). Subsequent betting will be debit from the
available balance of winnings in the Platinum account before the balance
are transfer into the bank account. All transactions are done
automatically. Members do not need to do any manual debiting or crediting
of the Platinum account.
More nice songs.
Just want to show some nice music.
離人
張學友, Jacky Cheung's original version, I feel it is more emotional and more easy on the ears. More melancholy which brings out the favour better.
林志炫, Terry Lin, version, I feel that the highs are nice and good but somehow the attention is shifted onto the pitches rather than on the song.
Julie's Crispy Choco Wafer Rolls
Bought this Julie's product to try as I love Julie's biscuit.
However, this is a disappointment as it is a bit dry and hard. Taste is not so good and actually it is a bit bitter and not sweet as I expected it to be. Well, what to do as I am just trying it out. Not going to buy this anymore.
FF3
Yeah. A bit slow i know but haha nonetheless I am going to blog about it.
Tried out Firefox 3 at office as office PC is always the guinea pig for new software. Do not want to cause my own PC to have problems and spend time fixing it.
The experience is quite good as sites seems to load faster even without fasterfox. Everything looks nice and good. As usual, there is the teething issue of addons and extensions that cannot work but given time, those individual developers will irons out the kinks. Temporarily, you can get the Nightly Tester Tools to force addons and extensions to work for the time being. Lucky for me, those few stuff I use already has a FF3 version out already.
The issue for me is the dropdown bar in the url bar is not exactly friendly, do download oldbar to get back the old FF2 dropdown bar. Search engine is still FF3 so you might want to tweak the config to show no suggestions as it will provide suggestions from your history and bookmarks. You can find the tweaks from here.
Overall, it is a good experience and perhaps when FF3 allows you to use the oldbar back and the old suggestion engine without config tweak or addons, it will be better~!
Inflation and food prices going up
As expected, food prices and inflation will follow with it.
It has been a long issue with either a 50km ban or foreign cars pumping at unsubsidised rate at Malaysia, it has finally comes to this. Fuel subsidy to be withdrawn, affecting both Malaysians and foreigners.
The higher fuel price means it costs more to transport food, etc to Singapore. The higher transportation costs mean the goods, mainly food, will increase. News has reported that vegetables and poultry have already increase by a small amount.
With the Malaysia government set to remove all subsidies within a short period, the price will continue to escalate.
Well done.
-Twister / Twister-Remix
-Lyrics by: SAWA
-Vocals by: SAWA
"Brain wave, main wave"
Psycho got a high kick
Collect and select
Show me your best set
"Crystals, blisters"
It’s all over now
Psycho cane
You’re so keen
I need more candy canes
"Cold cake, cold break"
Freak got a high kick
Mr. Twister
Moist with roistering
Stick it up
Take it up
Step aside and see the world
Effect has defects
"Take a bow to the moon (Bow-wow to the moon)"
"Morning rays, Hairspray Queens"
"Get on their way to their nests, the west"
"Honest, they once had a dream"
"Belles of society, in the shells of their unity"
Cornet’n spinet
"The sound flows, follows till they’re home"
Dragged by the power of dreams
That power is yet unknown
-Lyrics by: Makiko Noda
Every day streets are crowded with people
Every night streets are jammed with these noise
"Things are so strange, are they real or a dream"
Where am I now, trapped in this city of illusion
Feel the people, hear the voices
They are reaching out to catch you
Feel the rhythms, hear the noises
You are beating all the visions
Is it angels, is it devils, whispering in my ears
Is it emotions, is it illusions?
I need to be with you
Every day noises are killing these people
Every night noises are waiting for me (but)
"Don't run away, We've got no time left to fear"
"Where are you now, still it's showing me illusions"
Feel the people, hear the voices
They are reaching out to catch you
Feel the rhythms, hear the noises
You are beating all the visions
"In this long dream, can you find me?"
Want you to, you call my name
"In this hazard, chance of survivial?"
I need to be with you
Feel the people, hear the voices
They are reaching out to catch you
Feel the rhythms, hear the noises
You are beating all the visions
Is it angels, is it devils, whispering in my ears
Is it emotions, is it illusions?
I need to be with you
Calling, You hear the calling**
Let me go
Gravity
What's on my shoulder?
"Little by little, I feel a bit better"
Let me go,
Set me free,
I feel a bit older
Just once more unto the breach
"Dear friend, once more"
Wake up, leave your hesitation
Wake up, Time for us to realize
Wake up, Show appreciation
Wake up, Time for us to realize
Calling, Someone is calling**
Wait and see
Empathy
You're not the only one
"Little by little you feel a bit better"
Back in the destiny*, you are my side
Just once more unto the breach
"Dear friend, once more"
Wake up, leave your hesitation
Wake up, Time for us to realize
Wake up, Show appreciation
Wake up, Time for us to realize
Calling, you hear the calling**
[Calling, You hear the calling
Let me go
Gravity
What's on my shoulder?
"Little by little, I feel a bit better"
Let me go,
Set me free]
Let me go
Gravity
What's on my shoulder?
"Little by little, I feel a bit better"
Let me go,
Set me free,
I feel a bit older
Just once more unto the breach
"Dear friend, once more"
(Possibly missing the last tiny verse)
Never exhume me
I don't want you anymore
Colors are fading
You took all that I want
Memories are brimming and I hope you know
I am bleeding eternally for you
Lying stars
You make me dream of bliss
Greedy mind
Nothing is so right
Fear is compressed and my stomach aches
You could amaze me forever
I can't believe this isn't a dream
My lucent orb is fading bright
I can't believe it was a dream
So hard to reignite myself
I can't believe this isn't a dream
Is this the way we end up?
I can't believe it was a dream
A flashback is all I got in my hand?
Violet Sky
You know what this means?
I had always been there for you
And now I'm ready to dive in the danger zone
I know for sure because this is the way I am
Spatial patterns deep inside of me
Lose yourself on accumulated ground
All I know is my soul is unbreakable
-Give Me All Your Love
-Lyrics by: WAKAKO
-Vocal by: WAKAKO
Give me all your love...
Watch me with you scary eyes
Please me with your silky touch. Come on
Keep your eye on me always
I break it down
I'm not the same
Feel me when you come inside
Touch me when you want me anytime
Keep your eyes on me always
Don't wake me up 'till the morning light
"Get up on your feet, move your body, bring me the passion"
Give me your nasty hands. Come on now. I'm getting over you
"Get up on your feet, move your body, bring me the passion"
Give me your nasty hands. It's you. You can set me free
Give me all your love
Give me all your love
Don't give it to someone else
Give me all your love
Give me all your love
Don't share it with someone else
"I'm sending all my love, all my love for you"
All I want is your love and soul
"I'm sending all my love, all my love for you"
All I want is your love and soul
Give me all your love...
Treat me right as I do for you
Drive me crazy all night long
Keep your eyes on me always
Take me up to the heavens
I'm sending you all my love.
I want your love. I want your love and soul.
-Satisfy
-Lyrics by: SAWA
-Vocals by: Ayako Tanaka
You're so superficial
Dressed up all official
You're so super suspicious
Drenched by old officials
Oh it's just a matter of time before they cry
(you are lost now)
"Ah, it's just a matter of fact that you see them all clap"
(you are lost again)
Know who you are
Know what you want
Know what you got
"No, this ain't me"
Looking for salvation
Useless old protection
Choked up with emotion
Searching for a scapegoat
Oh it's just a matter of time before the crime
(you are lost now)
Ah, it's a matter of fact when you see them all collapse
(you are lost again)
See where you are
Seek what you want
Stray as you wish
Stay who you are
-Someday
-Lyrics by: SAWA
-Vocals by: Hanaeryca
Grab the key let's go out and have some fun
Have you ever seen such a perfect day?
What's in your mind? Let's do it one by one
Have you ever though such a day would come?
Time's up! Forget the theory
Start up the brand new story
Straight up and put it shortly
This is the way my life goes
Someone said I am such a foolish girl
Who cares? It's better than without a light
Sometimes I need someone to hold me tight
Explain to me what is justice what is right?
"Wait a minute, it's all been done before"
How long it takes to do it all over again
What's in your hand? Now drop them one by one
Have you ever thought such a day would come?
Shut up! You're so wordy
Forget about all those worries
"Show me your smile, how charming"
Go home and kiss your mommy
Somehow I hate to see you lie and lie
I know how dumb I am but so are you
Sometimes I want to laugh and cry at once
Explain to me what is justice what is right?
-Game Over
-Lyrics by: SAWA
-Vocals by: Andy KINLAY
Tell me who you are and who you were
How much have you been paid?
Take it easy
R-E-L-A-X
Would you like to have something to drink?
"To tell the truth, in this contract I don't care about anything except me"
"Just want the cash, transferred to my account"
Because it will make me feel alright
"I'm busy, dizzy, and lazy"
I got global eyes and a growing mind
"Above all, I'm wise and very well organized"
Made a compromise
Watch me rise high for the for one last time
See how my connection works
Information goes back and forth
Sit beside the window and all I do is watch the shadow grow longer
Linger, for the better, you'll never know what internall decadence means
He's got an opinion and posted suggestion but never reveals his name
"Read by someone, taken as a good one but nobody knew who had wrote it"
Few lines of the sentences lie
Anonymity is annoying me all the time
"It's like a "2 channel"*, where people can just throw their own anger"
And forget about those foul actions
"You are driving an expensive car, expectance, supremacy"
You're getting out of control; the troll is waiting down below
You still lack in experience
"Too bad, too close, too late to notice where you are"
There's no other way to take
"Dependency to the tendency, occasionally you misunderstood"
"Living in the life of mediovrity? Hypocrisy, legitimacy"
Go over it or game over now?
Is this a suitable place to strive?
"Say, "Down" to it or drown by it"
It's your choice to throw the dice
*possible reference to 2chan (and 4chan?)
-Detonation
-Lyrics by: SAWA
-Vocals by: Londell "Taz" Hicks
You've seen its foundation
Holding up a ragged nation
You know it in your mind
What it's like and how it lies
You want the right resolution
The right to get another portion
You know now is the time
To get ready for detonation
"Rise up like a vortex, cortex"
Reality is full of immorality
"Retreaters, they cheer the diffusers"
"Moist, icky, crust that's what they like"
insanity means nothing within vanity
"Good creatures, they wallow then they hollow ya"
Now sweety go kiss the case
You've seen its germination
"Stammering, hammering delighted recognition"
"Uber world, the hubble-bubble world"
"You should love this, say cheers to your ally baby"
You chose the left direction
"Left your shadow, wanna cuddle with the sorrow?"
But how could I? Why should I? I will!
Now take a part in our pretty decoration
"Drink'em all up voracity, curiosity"
The deadly drop is drawn to positivity
"Caution, the first crops, they taste so good"
Maniac tracks are on the floor tonight
"Mixed up with the zodic, maniac"
"Gotta heart attack, the flat-line, my life line"
"My heart is hardy, pumping up so steadily"
"The madman's boys are on the street again, what a game"
-Make or Break
-Lyrics by: SAWA
-Vocals by: Hanaeryca
It was in the black box
Turn out the light
You feel this rave and soothing waves
Take off your shirt
Turn up the music
The shower of lies feels so good
You know how to treat me
Tell me what you want
The hum of the breeze is all I hear
Inhale and exhale
Let me stay with you
I need you closer every now and then
"Make or Break, take what you like"
I won't run away
Sick of our criteria
Time won't wait for you
"I, mine, me"
No matter what
I can't run away
Scratch out massive data
I'm inside of you
I think you heard me
Don't get inside of me
"In a fret, unaccepted with nothing left"
Just like a charm
"No doubt, no harm"
The pleasant water feels so good
You know how
Deceive me, kick over the trace
"All by myself, bearing it"
Forget me not
You're the only one
I miss your heart every day and night
Don't you know what's wrong with you?
I am all the same
"Light up one last candle, oh how daring you are"
Oracle import script for data export and import only
Just a little script to import from an export dump file.
Note that the below script is based on a simple export dump from a list of generated table names. A dump file and a control file, named .dmp and .ctl, will be generated. .ctl will be the list of the generated table names for use in exp
Feel free to copy if you need to use the script or drop me a comment and I try to get back to you if you need help.
Execution command : file.ksh
#!/bin/sh
#
option='f'
export ORACLE_HOME=/software/oracle/product/9.2.0.8
export PATH=${ORACLE_HOME}/bin:${PATH}
while [ $option = 'f' ]
do
option='p'
#prompt and check password
echo 'Enter DBO password'
read passwd
#try to connect to DB
#sqlplus operation silenced by nohup and diverting output to /dev/null
#file test.txt will only be generated if connection is possible
nohup sqlplus -s DBO/$passwd@${ORACLE_SID} <<> /dev/null
spool test.txt
select * from dual ;
spool off
#checking for text.txt, prompt for correct password again if not present.
then
#Check dump and control file
#Simple file ops to check for file. If files do not exist, stop operation.
Couple charged under Sedition Act / Chrisitan Evangelism
Couple charged under Sedition Act
As the material is seditious in nature, I cannot give you the direct link but intelligent people will know how to look for it. I dunno how the ST editor is thinking. The material is seditious yet the name of the publication is shown. ST is just in danger for spreading such materials also.
For skeptics, have a good read.
Go to registry by using the default registry editor.
If you set it to the number 2 (String Value) Then numlock will be on when booting. If you set it to 0, then numlock will be off when booting.
Did Creative just dug its own grave?
Just recently Creative sold its building in a sell and lease back scheme. News here. Some claims that Creative is just building capital for its next launch of products etc but I feel that it is the downfall of the company soon.
Shocking recent news reveal that Creative is probably going to sue a driver modder who actually helps Creative product consumers to be able to use Creative Soundcards on Windows Vista properly. The issue arose because the products were claim to be Vista compatible but not at all. While IP rights etc may be violated by the modder, afaik, he did not place his name all over the driver etc. Asking for donations to those who valued his work properly overstepped the mark.
However, instead of doing damage control, they are now just sort of 'hushing' the issue over it.
Infer your own views over this issue, kindly read the Creative forum and you will know more about it.
