Resume and OCR

Just started helping my sister for a small sideline by formating candidates' resume into the required company format.
So far it has been an easy job and it only takes around 15 mins for a quick $5.

A quick glance through of the original resume is needed and then transplant information onto the template.

One resume stands out from the rest it is an image pdf which I cannot convert. Looked around for OCR scanner to pick up the words but unable to find one.
After some searching for a free OCR software, found a totally free or rather paid software already.
Surprise of all surprises, it is inside Microsoft Office. The application is called Microsoft Office Document Imaging.

There is some limitation to the application as it can only read tiff and it own MODI files formats.
It can be easily resolved by using snagit to take screenshot (use the scrolling screenshot to take a pic of the whole document), save as tiff and hey presto.

Information found at here. Credits must be given else I will not be able to blog here and advise!
